Someone asked me how he could make it happen that more than 2 users can connect to a server using remote desktop. Not that I know that much of all this but I did found out that when you perform a standard install of windows 2003 (and maybe other RDP supporting versions of windows) remote desktop is enabled in the standard mode. This means that there can only be 2 connections at the same time. You can use this to perform administrative tasks on the server.
Now if you want to allow more than 2 connections you will have to install the Terminal Services. When installing Terminal Services you will be asked to provide a Terminal Services License server. This means that it needs another server (can be the same machine) to use for the licenses, so you need to install that as well. During the installation of the Terminal Services License server you’ll be asked what type of licensing you want per device or per user.
So to connect you need a Client Access License!
That’s all I know about it.

In the .net magazine december 2006 edition there is an interesting article about programming with the Composite UI Application Block. This is the base block used by the Smart Client Software Factory of the Patterns & Practices team.
Just a quick post saying that the Patterns & Practices team send you off in the holidays with some new toys to play. That’s right they’ve released the December CTP of the Enterprise Library V 3.0 which includes the much anticipated Validation Application Block.
